When I saw this challenge on Instagram I knew it was the perfect opportunity to practice my capsule wardrobe life! I was a little nervous about having to show my outfits/hair/allergy swollen eyes etc. every day to my IG world, but I decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a try. I didn't take photos taken all 30 days, but the days I didn't, I was wearing my painting clothes, pajamas, or repeat outfits.
I wore a total of 25 pieces (not including jewelry or other accessories.)
Shoes: 6 (I really could've done without two of these, but I got lazy.)
I usually wear the exact same outfits over and over, so it was a fun challenge to look at my seasoned closet with fresh eyes. I learned very quickly it is not my forte to take daily fashion photos. It's a lot more work than it seems. Kudos to all of you gals out there making the magic happen.
I value comfort and a casual vibe when I get dressed, a combination I thought didn't equate style. I learned I've been wrong for 35 years! The above was my favorite outfit the whole month. It was 100% comfortable, but I felt stylish at the same time. I've owned the pants for about 10 years and the shoes for 5 and I've never even thought to put them together. The shirt was a new Lexie & Lee addition to my closet. It was the second to last outfit I wore, and I would've never found that combo if I wasn't doing the challenge.
Here are the looks all together. I think I'll do it again next year! Want to join me?
Some of the photos are clickable where I wore L&L pieces.
I wore my sleeveless tee over my Lexie and Lee Sweetheart Vibes Dress
What do you think is my most successful outfit? Would you try this? Doesn't have to just be in May! Also, if 30 days feels intimidating start with 7 items in 7 days. And if you do it, please share your experience with me here in comments or message me on IG
